The history of our kennel

I'm Peter Horváth carrying the title three times bronze, silver and golden wreath master breeder. I live 100 km from Budapest, in Szolnok. I have been working more than 20 years with breeding and popularization the Pyrenean mountain dog.

For the first time I saw the Pyrenees mountain dog in the French TV series "Belle and Sebastian" and decided to buy such a stunning, elegant, reliable dog next to my children. In 1990 I bought my first dog, Karcagpusztai Hermina [Father: French Import: Dylan (BK. HCH, BOB, CACIB, BP.GY.) and mother: French Import: Grand du Tendre Kiss (CAC, CACIB, KL.GY.) ] from József Bukovszki golden wreath master breeder.

From her nature as shepherd she defended and preserved her territories and goods. She acted with the children always very patient and gentle. She did not have to be taught security and protection, since these properties were always in their genes. She may instinctively choose between indifferent and dangerous situations. Her appearance and properties motivated me to breed these dogs.

After the acquisition of licenses for breeding, I began my work requiring many personal and financial investment, and knowledge of livestock breeding.
My breeding goals were that the successors have to be healthy, with typical appearance, showing the breed characteristics and a stable nervous system.

I managed to develop a good stock, which is unique in the country and is based on French and Belgian bloodlines.

The primary filters of my breeding work were the exhibitions and competitions. I tried to attend several international conformation shows. (FCI Group 2, Cattle Dogs). On these Judges rated, who held tests "primarily" from dog breeds.

The Rodentáli dogs, bred by me, are now in 6th generation in competition, both private and foreign-owned.

The many awards and the "breeding" certificate guarantee that I breed the "national treasure" of France on high level.

I got the award triple golden wreath master breeder not by quantity but by quality breeding. For this title at least 36 dogs national winners are needed (at least CAC) from 12 different litters. Dogs from my breeding have at least CAC (national winner) and higher titles. These results are for me, as breeder, of secondary importance, the more important goal is, what kind of a dog I want to achieve, then thorough knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of the ancestors and to pursue the life of the new puppies.

I want to continue choosing my clients carefully - despite the fact that they choose the dog always - because my breeding success largely depends on the satisfaction of the new owners.
I am proud of my dogs, and superior performance and properties of their successors. I'm even more proud that those who bought 10-12 years ago a dog from me, and unfortunately lost their faithful companion, do not change the breed or the breeder, have been coming back, and I hope this will stay that way.
One of our prides is the European winner at the Euro Dog Show in Zagreb in 2007.

Foreign breeders buy dogs from our kennels for further breeding and give the good genes of our dogs to their kennels. (Kennels of Farma Stecot, Filipur Dvur, Breckot, etc.)

I will continue to strive for quality in the dog breeding. I sometimes refresh the bloodline with French, Norwegian and Finnish males. It is important to me that the puppies have good features to serve the survival of the breed. I want to know the carefully bred puppies in the best hands, at owners who can grow them consistently and clearly, correctly feed this huge expectant breed, and will thus spread the good reputation of the Pyrenean mountain dog and the RODENTÁLI kennel.
