Health care

The most frequent health problems are the same as in other dog breeds. The fast growth of bones starting at 3 months of age could result in lameness and hip overuse if lameness is not cared. Usually they do not need frequent visit at the Vet. They are healthy and strong animals when they have enough space to move or 2 hours brisk walk daily. We found our Pyrs very sensitive for ticks and they get Babiosis easily which can be cared by antibiotics and can be diagnosed by the rapidly developing high fever. Generally the Vet costs of Pyrs are low.
